Did you know: Both hair and skin sizzle, and have roughly the same smell, when hit with molten mig slag rockets. They also don't stop you from continuing the bead. I don't know why.
Day 5:
Day 5 began like all the others so far... plug in the work lights (which I now have two dead bulbs... thank you Craftsman), drag out the welder, grab a bottle of water and get to work. Today I was happy, I had not distractions to keep me from working on the truck. I shot straight home after work, had a quick dinner, and set off on three hours of welding.
As you can see by the photos there is a lot of weld surface area on these plates. And I mean a lot. I started with 1000psi in my bottle of C25 and by the time I started the final plate I was down to 10psi. Yup, 10. I finished welding the final plate with my gauge reading 0psi. And you know? I never ran out of gas! (I'm starting to think my gauge is off)
So the rear of the frame is now platted and I can begin the notch. Once the notch is done I can move the axle under the truck and start the suspension. Until tomorrow...
