Mini-Truckers eat your heart out...

"My brain must have been shut off last night because I have no quote for today..."

Day 17

With the last episode of Heros for the season on last night and me having a TV in the garage, progress was slow. But it was not a total waste. I was able to finish laying the foundation for the tube work.

Two things had to happen before I could start slinging tube. The first was I needed to relocate the limit strap tabs that I had on my axle. I must have measured wrong back four months ago when I built the axle housing because the limit strap tabs hit the frame rail costing me about two inch's of up travel. So they got cut off and will be relocated to someplace else on the housing.

Secondly I needed to set up my bender. These benders need a firm foundation as it takes quite a bit of force to bend the tube. And since cutting into the concrete wasn't an option I built a trailer hitch mount for it. Being just a simple 2"x 2" tube with a couple of gussets it went together quickly and fit perfectly, but would it work. I tossed a piece of scrap 1 1/2" in the bender and bent away. It worked just like I had planned.

So, with the axle now at FULL bump and the tube bender set up it is time to get to work on the bed cage!
