Tonight was the first time I have asked myself "Why am I doing this?" and "Am I going to finish on time?"
Day 6:
If you read the quote above then you already have an idea of what this post is probably going to be about. Tonight I got one frame notch about 75% compete. It's not that I wasn't working hard on it, or that I got a late start, it just took a long time. I had the notch already marked so cutting it out was no problem. Then I had to grab the trusty Sharpie and cardboard and make some templates for platting in the back, then cut the plate, weld the plates in, deal with a stubborn welder, then I wasn't happy with the way the plate work came out so I had to grab the cardboard again and make some new templates then by that time it was after 10 so it was time to call it a night. You can probably tell I wasn't in a great mood when I finished cleaning up. And then on top of all of that, just to add insult to injury, the die I need for my bender which was ordered over two weeks ago, hasn't been delivered yet, it is still on a brown truck somewhere.
After thinking more about it, I'm still on schedule with this, I know what I need to do to finish the frame notch's, and overall everything is going smoothly so really I have no need to start doubting myself now, not at this point anyway.
The next time you hear from me I will have had three more days to work on the truck, two of those being full days of work, so hopefully I will be a lot closer to being back on the road and I won't be in such a foul mood. Until then enjoy these couple photos of what I accomplished last night.
