"I never thought I would need to know yoga to build a truck. This thing has had me crawling all over it in all sorts of weird ways."
Day 27
I made a big stride towards getting the truck back on its wheels again tonight. I finished the upper shock mounts. I completed the upper shock mounts on the driver side and got the framework laid for the mounts on the passenger side. By getting this done it means that I can charge the shocks back up today with nitrogen and get them ready to go on the truck for good.
The shock mount idea I went with was one that I have never seen done before. I figured I would try something new and be a little different. Or maybe I have seen this before somewhere and it subliminally came out when I was thinking of what to do with mine. Post up if you have seen this before, I want to see. The plate is a mix of 3/16" (the vertical pieces) and 1/8" (the horizontal pieces).
Well, that is the last update for this week. This weekend I have to finish the second shock mount, mount the fuel cell, plumb and wire the cell, plumb and bleed the brakes, change my inner tie rods and change my oil, and finish other odds and ends like mount the bedsides to get the truck running by Monday morning.
I want to here your thoughts! Will I make it? Will I die trying? Am I crazy? Hopefully my next post will be from Northern California with my truck. I'll see you all on Monday!
