When you step on the accelerator pedal, the exhilarating sensation of speed you feel is a result of TORQUE. And, the more torque your engine produces, the more enjoyable your vehicle is to drive. There are many products on the market that improve torque, but none that give it to you as easily, or as inexpensively as Torque-Curve Throttle Body Spacers from Trans-dapt Performance Product's.
Trans-Dapt's unique Torque-Curve spacer design is the result of an extensive design and testing process, led by long time automotive airflow technology guru, Jim McFarland. More than a simple piece of aluminum sandwiched between your engine's throttle body and intake, Trans-Dapt's special plenum profile works along with the throttle blade to smooth out the incoming flow of air to your engine, so that more oxygen is available for combustion. More available air for combustion results in a more efficient burn, which means more torque to turn the crankshaft, and even more importantly, more torque where rubber meets asphalt.
Sound theory does not always translate into real world results, however, so Trans-Dapt took a 2004 GMC full-sized pickup and their #2566 Torque-Curve Spacer to Westech Performance in Mira Loma, Ca. to see if their innovative design delivered the performance expected. After getting baseline torque and HP numbers, the spacer was installed, and the truck's computer was given some time to remap itself to the new airflow. The vehicle was strapped onto the chassis dyno again for additional pulls. When all was said and done and standard SAE correction methods were applied to the data, the 2004 4.8L GMC Truck showed an astounding increase of 54.3 ft. lbs. of Torque over stock, and an equally impressive 29.2 ft. lbs. over the leading competitor’s spacer.
Trans-Dapt's Torque-Curve Spacers are easy to install with basic tools in only minutes, are 50 state legal (E.O #D-578), and cost less than the competition's product. Simply stated, Trans-Dapt’s Performance Products’ Torque-Curve Technology Throttle Body Spacers are the easiest, most economical way to improve the passing power and hauling performance of your vehicle.
Trans-Dapt’s TORQUE-CURVE Technology spacers are available for other GM, Ford, Dodge and Jeep applications. In fact, Torque-Curve technology has become so universally accepted, the proprietary plenum design is now utilized on Hamburger Performance Product's Billet aluminum line of EFI spacers, which offers an even wider range of applications
