"Keeping it real" is over-used, I admit, but it's a good description of Rex Rajewski's build.
The door bars have plenty of strength built into them, yet they're low enough to make ingress and egress easy. Taller door bars would be mandated on a race truck, but for a play truck like this low door bars are the best.
No super-wide, big-dollar rear axle here. There wasn't room for one in the budget, so Rex made the stock axle work instead. This will probably be upgraded later on, but this goes to show that you can make do with what you've got in order to get the truck out of the shop and into the dirt.
I've seen plenty of ads for part-finished project trucks that say "best of everything, ran out of money to finish." I'd say it's better to have something less than perfect that runs than a half-finished masterpiece that sits idle. Stock rear axle? Sure! Use it until it breaks and then go big.
It also bears mentioning that Rex welds for a living, so there's high-quality fabrication throughout this truck.
