Once you get past the gleaming red paint and the monstrous 39-inch tires, you can see the structural facets of the Herbst TT.
It's logical that a straight tube is stronger than a bent tube. Check out the inside view of the cab area, especially the roof tubes.
The overhead tube cluster has somewhat of a peak to it, but bends are noticeably absent, except for a slight tweak in the front-to-back roof tube. What's ever-present are triangles. They're built overhead, in the door bars, and are hidden behind the seats at the back of the cab area.
This Trophy Truck was built primarily using 1.75-inch tubing, which was considered big stuff in 1997. Today you need to use 2-inch tubing for a truck of this size and weight.
