As many know, one of our most beloved off-roading areas in So Cal is under threat of closure due to a proposal by the Marine Corps. to appropriate some or all of the area for training exercises.
One round of public scoping meetings has already taken place. After the first round of meetings, the Marines studied their alternatives and goals and have now come out with a statement about what they want.
There is a public scoping and comment meeting in Victorville tonight from 5-9pm. This is a chance to meet with the Marines as stakeholders in the Johnson Valley OHV area. We'll have a chance to view the Marines' proposal and then comment on it.
If you can't, you can submit written comments instead.
